About our center...
Our goal is to provide comprehensive evaluation
and treatment of fibroids. Many women do not need surgery, while others
may face a difficult decision and hear many conflicting opinions. Very few
individual physicians are able to offer all options, so the "menu" of choices may
be limited.
Why a Fibroid Center?
Uterine Artery Embolization is performed by specialists in interventional
radiology. Radiologists are experienced in angiographic x-ray procedures, but
not in the treatment of fibroids. On the other hand,
gynecologists are not trained to do the embolization procedure. By
combining our physicians' expertise in gynecology, with interventional radiologist
who are very experienced in embolization, we are able to offer
all options for fibroid treatment.
Remember that the skill and expertise your physicians helps to determine the
outcome of any treatment. There are differences in skill and experience
between physicians. We strongly suggest that before considering a
physician, you find out about the experience of that individual. Who
would you want to do your procedure: the doctor who just took a
class, or the doctor with who taught the class?
